Seller's conditions of sale
Terms for the Seller
With the exception of viewing and sale days, articles will be received at the auction room during normal working hours, Monday to Friday for inclusion in forthcoming sales
Rye Auction Galleries Ltd will be please to arrange to collect goods for the sale room at an appropriate cost to be settled by the vendor prior to collection, unless alternative arrangements are in place.
Rye Auction Galleries Ltd reserve the right to refuse acceptance of goods, to decline to offer and goods by auction and to withdraw and lot before or at any point during the sale.
Rye Auction Galleries Ltd accept no responsibility for damage caused by fire, water, weather, military, conflict, theft, burglary, or act of God for goods held by them on behalf of the owners. All goods are accepted into the sale room at owner’s risk.
It is in the seller’s interest that goods submitted to sale should be in the cleanest condition as possible, we reserve the right to clean goods if necessary and to charge for the cost involved.
Rye Auction Galleries Ltd reserves the right to lot items as they think desirable and include articles such as sundries, contents and etcetera’s. No responsibility is accepted for incorrect description or error in the lotting of goods.
The commission charges are set out below and will be levied appropriately for each entered lot:
Buyers Commission 16.5% plus VAT
Vendors Commission rate charged at 17.5% plus VAT
Minimum commission rate £3.00 per lot plus VAT
Handling charge £1 per lot
Items withdrawn from auction after submission to the saleroom will incur a charge of 16.5% of the auctioneer’s estimated value. And this is based on current market prices and including VAT
Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder in accordance with and subject to the conditions of sale except where you have indicated a minimum reserve price.
Unsold items will be entered into the next available auction when they may be offered and sold without reserve
Sold, unsold and withdrawn lots will be charges storage at a rate of £10 Per lot per day commencing on the fourth day after the auction.
All outstanding charges will be deducted from the sale proceeds or must be settled prior to removal from the Auction Room
All unsold lots from General Sales to be cleared within 7 working days, smaller items can be donated to a local charity on your behalf. Larger items such as furniture will stored externally and charged at the above daily rates
A full statement and proceeds from sale will be held onto until such items as all unsold items are removed from the premises, payment is 28days after the auction subject to being in reciept of all monies due this is in conjunction with the distance selling laws and our rescission policies this applies for our Antique & Collectable Sale
